I am an afro-Trinidadian university student based in Brooklyn, NY.
I enjoy participating in activities that can benefit my community.
During my years participating in extracurricular activities, I was able to interact with like-minded
individuals with different goals and interests in the field of STEM and preforming arts.
At NYIT, I am also the Vice President of the First-Generation Students Club. Our mission is
to
recognize, empower, and celebrate first-generation students when they join the NYIT community and
progress through their academic program.
Additionally, I am participating in the Undergraduate Research and Entrepreneurship Program with a
group of students from the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences at NYIT. Our mission is to
research sustainability in the scope of either architecture or energy consumption and apply
technology
to determine the best possible solution for urban communities in New York.
I participated in an Intramural Archery Class for 1 and a half years before the pandemic. I hope to continue this sport in the upcoming months
I was enrolled in the Music Literacy and Education Programme at BirdSong Music Academy located in the University of the West Indies- St Augustine Campus for 2 and a half years. With in those years, I was apart of the choir, Academy Orchestra as a second trumpet and steel pan player. I also received a certificate of distintion for Grade 1 Theory of Music form ABRS.
I also enjoy gaming whether it was an Open World RPG or simply a fighting game with friends.
I participated in many club and extracurricular activities at all the secondary schools I attended. I was a Unit 9 Youth Red Cross Cadet, A ChildLine Ambassador and assisted in many fundraising and donation drives.
